Minister Halligan Leading Trade Visit to the Netherlands and Sweden

Minister of State for Training, Skills, Innovation, Research and Development, John Halligan T.D. is to lead trade visit to the Netherlands and Sweden from April 10-12. The three-day visit is a part of Enterprise Ireland’s corporate strategy.

The first event on the programme is a visit to the Empack trade show for the plastics and packaging sector in Utrecht, the Netherlands, where six Enterprise Ireland clients will be participating. Minister Halligan will also visit Smurfit Kappa’s Global Experience Centre in Amsterdam.

On Wednesday, April 11, Minister Halligan will travel to Sweden to lead a delegation of five Enterprise Ireland clients to engage with Swedish automotive OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) including Volvo Cars, AB Volvo Group and Scania.

Speaking prior to his departure Minister Halligan said: “I am delighted to lead this three-day Enterprise Ireland trade visit to the Netherlands and Sweden. By bringing clients to meet potential customers in the plastics and packaging sector from the Benelux region and world-leading automotive manufacturers in Sweden, Enterprise Ireland is using a very specific, direct approach to assist them to diversify into markets beyond the UK as preparations for Brexit continue.”
