Programme to Support Women in Business Launched

Women in Enterprise, an accelerator education and mentoring programme for female entrepreneurs, has been launched by AIB, in partnership with The Entrepreneurs Academy. The programme is targeted at female owned or led businesses, who are ideally in operation for longer than eighteen months, have growth ambitions for their business and whose business revenue or projections are in excess of €150,000 per annum.

The programme consists of four half-day masterclass events taking place across Ireland, the first of which took place in Dublin in November 2017. The second will take place in The Maryborough Hotel, Cork on Wednesday, 31 January, and the third in Donegal on Thursday, 8 February. The fourth will take place somewhere in the midlands at a date yet to be set. Places are limited to just 70 women per event.

In addition, two Growth Academy Workshop Programmes, which both include six full-day workshops are open to 20 ambitious female entrepreneurs, who are AIB business account holders. The first Growth Academy is starting in Dublin on 7 February and the second will be in Cork, starting on Wednesday 21 February.

Commenting on the programme, Joanne Hession, Founder of The Entrepreneurs Academy said: “I’ve wanted to run a programme like this for many years and I’m delighted to announce that at last we can. AIB Women in Enterprise programme is comprised of a series of masterclasses and Growth & Leadership programmes for female entrepreneurs looking to work on their business instead of in their business. There are such hard-working entrepreneurs in this country that deserve to be able to access learning and development of this calibre, this programme will really help them and their businesses grow to the next stage.”
